Environment

Inland Empire Paper Company is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees and our community. The future and success of Inland Empire Paper Company is dependent upon the sustainability of environmental resources. We are devoted to the preservation and enhancement of these natural resources and to minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment. As stewards of the environment, it is our responsibility to adhere to the following:

Guiding Principles

Protection:

Our first and foremost concern is the protection of our environment. A constant monitoring and compliance program ensures that our operations have minimal impact on the environment.

Improvement:

Our core philosophy includes a proactive approach in applying new technologies and processes to provide a more efficient and environmentally friendly product.

Innovation:

We strive to seek out the newest and most proven ways to operate our pulp and paper mill in ways that improve the environment around us. Whether it is using the most modern paper machine in the world, or our state of the art wood pulping system, we endeavor to be the best agents of the environment we can.

Sustainability:

At Inland Empire Paper Company, we pride ourselves on the minimal use of natural resources to manufacture paper. 100% of our final product is manufactured from waste materials, using wood waste from local sawmills and recycled old newsprint and magazines.

Experience:

Inland Empire Paper Company has been manufacturing paper in the Spokane area since 1911. This history comes with a wealth of experience and an ability to meet the challenges of a dynamic, evolving world.

Education:

We are proud of our accomplishments and want to share these experiences and communicate openly with our community. Our staff is available for presentations regarding our operations and the art of papermaking.
